Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas any more.

I have crossed over the rainbow.  After over 15 years as a B2B marketer, I have joined Aberdeen Group as Research Director of their Marketing Effectiveness & Strategy Practice.  Thankfully, there was not a tornado.

My world of knowing the buyer, generating content to capture their attention, building buzz and driving marketing generated revenue has taught me a lot. (Read more about me.) In my role at Aberdeen, I’ll be helping marketers learn not only from my own experience, but also from original research and content. It will be a new adventure, different, challenging (I LOVE a challenge) and it will require you. Yes, YOU.

Here’s how:

  • Tell me your story.  I will need to have my finger on the pulse of today’s marketers and vendors in the marketing space; capturing anecdotal stories that support or guide the research. Hearing your story helps me build hypothesis and is critical to success. Please share!
  • Contribute data.  I will be conducting primary research with marketers.  My surveys will rely on the input of marketers to build statistically significant stories about what’s working and what’s not in today’s ever-changing marketing world. Aberdeen’s open surveys can be found on their site. Please give your opinion.
  • Read my research.  I need you to read and respond to my research. Is it good?  Is it providing you value?  What’s missing?  Your input on my research ensures that I continue to deliver information that is helpful.  My predecessor published oodles of great research; it is complementary with registration.  Check out his work, and check back for my first publications. This blog is primarily dedicated to my favorite topic, marketing, and will include other content that I hope you’ll find interesting, funny, educational and thought provoking.  Don’t be surprised if I randomly share wine suggestions, sports rants and dog stories; we can’t all be work 100% of the time!
